I appreciate all your voting and so did mum. She had a ball and my whole family including dad and my sister partied til 3am and had a really memorable night together so thanks!!!! How do you rate your chances? “Slim. I’m so stoked that I’m not being called the “shock nominee” though! Last time people were saying “Esther who?” so maybe a fraction above slim!

Who is your main competition? “The other 5 nominees! Asher will win I think.”

Who is the dark horse? “Carrie Bickmore! Although the talented Adam Hills is due to win surely.”

What does it mean to win a Logie? “I’ve not had the honour so I’m not sure, but looking at the previous winners I would be proud to stand in their company, also I think my parents would be really thrilled and forget they spent all their money voting for me.”

What was the highlight of your 2011 TV year? “Definitely seeing how everyone embraced the Charlie and Brax storyline. It was quite amazing to see what kind of effect this story had on people, young and old. Ok admittedly it was mainly Brax!”

Why should viewers vote for you? “I’d be thrilled if the Home and Away fans chose to vote for me, I’ve had such amazing support over my years on the show.”

Who would have thought eh? haha yes i have twitter! or tweeter as i keep calling it. Well you tweet so you know! i had so many fans asking how they could still keep in touch now that i wanst on H and A and people kept suggesting i go on tweeter so i figured there was no point resisting it, i should at least give it a go. If mum can now use the dvd machine then surely i can embrace the tweet!! and its been lovely receiving everyones well wishes and iv enjoyed sending the odd message too…as insignificant as it sometimes feels telling you all about what i ate on easter morning…iits great to be able to say hi! GEELONG television beauty Esther Anderson has opened up about her romance with Joel Selwood, revealing the Cats captain is “very sweet”. Anderson, the former Home and Away star who has earned a Gold Logie nomination, said she hit it off with premiership star Selwood at the races last year.

“I poked his eye out with my fascinator so it wasn’t off to a good start, but it’s worked out,” she said. “He’s very sweet and, like anyone else, we’re just enjoying getting to know each other.”

Geelong born and raised, Anderson has long been a Cats fan and will attend the big Easter Monday clash between Geelong and Hawthorn with her sister. “I’m not going to claim any titles,” she said about being footy’s hottest new WAG.

But Anderson can rely on Selwood for support. “He said he always watched Home and Away, even before I met him. Unless he’s just saying that to make me feel better. I always thought our main demographic was 35-year-old-plus women … but it seems to be young guys as well.”

Anderson, 32, won’t be taking Selwood, 23, to the Logies given Geelong plays North Melbourne in the twilight game on the same night. She has just returned from a two month stint auditioning in LA and was “stoked” to learn of her Gold nomination.

“I was just blown away and in shock,” she said. “I don’t think it ever really sinks in, when I consider the other nominees who are so talented. “It’s an enormous honour and I’ve got some great fans who embraced my character. I think my dad has been handing out flyers in the area.”

Anderson, a former Dancing With The Stars contestant, said it would be disappointing to miss the new series which premieres on Logies night next Sunday. She is hopeful of landing a new role in Australia after learning a lot during her stint in LA.

“Before Home and Away I hadn’t really had a whole lot of experience auditioning,” she said. “Just learning that skill in itself was all new and challenging. I loved it. It was a huge learning experience. Some people call it insanity over there but I don’t regret it.”
